Choose a service model
Choose a service model
LaunchPad ships thirteen service model templates, organised into five categories: Foundation, Operational, Specialised, Enterprise, and Governance. Each template deploys a CMDB schema into Assets with its own object types, attributes, and relationships, and most of them are spokes that extend the Core Schema hub rather than standalone islands (see Hub-and-spoke architecture). The categories are labels for what a schema does, not pricing levels; pricing is per object across the whole product. Picking the right starting template still matters, because it shapes how your service data fits together from day one.
This section helps you make that decision before you commit to a deployment.
What's in this section?
Which model should I choose? A decision framework that walks you through the key questions: what are you managing, how mature is your ITSM practice, and which schema fits your answers.
Compare service models A side-by-side comparison of what each template includes, so you can see the differences at a glance without opening every schema page.
